About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanghai - San Francisco - Shanghai - HK

Question:
I will be flying to San Fran from Shanghai. By doing this my current Chinese VISA will expire. After that I will fly back to Shanghai and want to have a 24 or 72 hour transit and fly to Hong Kong and stay there for a couple of weeks. Can I use the 24 or 72 hour transit is this case?

Yes, you can use the free transit in Shanghai.

If you're a citizen of the 51 countries listed as eligible to stay for 144 hours without a transit visa, then you should be fine.
