About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Chicago/Shanghai/Seoul/Chicago

Can I get 72hr visa free if fly from Chicago to Shanghai(direct), stay there for 3 days then return to Chicago via Seoul(8 hr layover)?
I'm U.S. passport holder.
