Can I leave the airport as I have a 16 hr layover in PVG.

I would like to go to a hotel near the airport to sleep before flight to KWL the next day. I will be teaching in China and have a workers visa. If not, is there a hotel within the PVG airport?

Of course you can leave the airport, but the visa may only allows one entry. Don't use it in PVG, because you are actually eligible for 24h visa-free transit.
