About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Good day,my boss Italy passport, travel from KUL - PVG - KUL for 3days.

Does he entire free visa 72 hours ??

No, he's not in transit to a third country.

Good day,
Mean as above case, he need holding valid China Visa before he enter China?
2) Free Transit isn't mean arrival China A city maybe stop for two day then connecting next flight to third country like eg.: KUL - PVG stop 2 day, then PVG - Taipei ??
