Transit visa required for technical stop international flights at Kungming (KMG)?

I am a Indian national holding an Indian passport. i have a direct non stop flight from Qingdao, China To New Delhi, India. But the flight has a technical stop at Kungming(KMG) for 1 hr 35 mins. So do i need to have a visa for this stop? Moreover i am a Seaman holding seaman's book but i will accompanied along with my wife in the above mentioned flight as i will be getting down from ship at Qingdao port. She is holding an Indian passport only but does not possess seaman's book.Does she need any visa for travelling with me? What documents shall we need for boarding the flight?

Gouri, if your travel route is like country A rather than India-Qingdao & Kunming (24 hours in total)-India, you will be able to enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in China. NO need to apply for a transit G type then. You just need to provide passport and the onward ticket.

You need a crew visa because you are boarding the ship as a crew member. Your wife also needs a crew visa.
