About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

if I am flying from South Korea to China and then back to South Korea. Would the 144h Visa work ?

No, it doesn’t work in that case. It works only when visitors from and to a different country or region. Let's say, Area A - Beijing - Area B.
