About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello! Quite a simple question. I plan to use the 144 hours free travel to Shanghai.

My airport or departure is in Japan. Airport of arrival is in South Korea. But as an European citizen, I do not need a visa to stay in Korea.
Is the airplane ticket by itself enough to justify for th VOA in Shanghai?
Kind Regards
