About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

American passport holder Guangzhou layover

I have an American Passport
Flying from Los Angeles to Guangzhou with a 17 hour layover in Guangzhou and then flying to Phuket, Thailand do I need a visa? or do I qualify for the free transit. If so is there anything special I need to do? Do I need a visa for Phuket
Any information would be appreciated as My flight is coming up soon.
Thank you

Andrea, no, you don’t need it because you can use the 24 hour direct transit in Guangzhou. You can just provide your passport and confirmed ticket for Thailand.
