20hr layover in Shanghai

Hi! I have an old Shanghai visa with my old USA passport. Can I explore the city since I have a 20hr layover or do I need a visa?

You don't need a visa regardless of whether you're carrying the old passport with you or not. Having a valid visa can save two to three hours at immigration though since you can use the general lanes.
