I'm planning to go to Shanghai from Beijing leaving on the 5th of Feb. 2018.

What is the cheapest cost, the type of train and the schedule.

You can take a normal train from Beijing Railway Station at 11:54. It takes about 19h 30 minutes and CNY283.5 for a hard sleeper, CNY455.5 for a soft one, CNY156.5 for a hard seat.

Or a long-distance bus is available at Zhaogongkou Bus Station at 15:40. It takes 18h to Shanghai and the fare is CNY340.
