About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am traveling from the US to Nepal, with a 14 hour layover in Kunming.

VOA is available in Nepal. Do I need the visa in advance to qualify for the 72 free transit in China?

I don’t think you need to get it in advance. You can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Kunming.

is Kunming your only stop in China? I don't see any non-stop flights from the US.
