travel from shanghai to beijing

Hello,We shall arrive in Shanghai on the 144hr visa in February, 2018 and would like to take a day trip to Beijing.  Once 144hr visa programme is implemented in Beijing, will this be possible?Thanks and Regards, Kaye

I am afraid not. They are implemented for different areas: one for Shanghai, Zhejiang & Jiangsu, the other for Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. If you wish to visit both places with the visa-free policy, I suggest you fly to Hong Kong and enter mainland again. Otherwise, you have to hold a visa.
