Hi! I have a 12hr-layover in Beijing this month.

It's my first time so after my flights gets in at 2pm I would like to reach Tiananmen Square by 3pm and move on to Forbidden City by 3.30pm as it seems that's when ticket sales end? Then walk up Jingshan Park and round up with some dinner at Wangfujing before going back to the airport.
Does this sound reasonable/doable?
Thanks in advance!

Your route sounds reasonable. But the Forbidden City only accepts online reservation, so you may be unable to get a ticket on the spot. You can roam around the Tiananmen Square, where there are other spots, such as Great Hall of the People and Tiananmen Tower. After that, go to Jingshan Park or Beihai Park for a visit. Walk to Dashilar for shopping. After that, go to Wangfujing.
