About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can anyone give me details on the required pages on passport needed for the China free visa?

I have two layovers in Beijing (going and coming from Thailand). I've heard it's one page for the visa and one for stamping? ... So does that mean I would need two pages and two pages to stamp? so four total? Or can I use two pages for the free transit and one for stamping? Thanks. BTW I have a USA passport

The stamped temporary entry permit is about a third of a page, while the sticker type is about a half. Entry and exit stamps are usually placed on or next to the permit. Best case scenario (if you ask them nicely) it will take only one page for all the permits and the stamps.
