About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Does a return trip qualify as “onward travel”?

I need to make a short trip for airline elite benefits befor end of the year. I wanted to see the Great Wall. I have a reservation from Chicago to Beijing with less than 72 hours before returning back from Beijing to Chicago. Does this qualify for the program?

You need a visa. USA-China-USA is not a transit.
