About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Transit in Shenzhen for polish passport holder.

I go from South Korea to Australia, Sydney and I transit in Shenzhen for 7 hours. I do not want to leave the airport. Everywhere I find different information. Do I need to apply for an entry permit before going or I can just get it at the Shenzhen airport or show my tickets and wait in transit area to take my plane?

Hi, there is no free transit program in Shenzhen, so you should apply for a transit visa for the trip beforehand.

Even if I stay in transit area to just take my plane? Wouldn't it be weird? I just take another gate. No airport change, no airport leave, just wait 7 hours for next flight as soon as I arrive by the same airlines which I come with.

You can't just stay in the transit area at Shenzhen without passing an immigration check. But that's irrelevant because you won't even make it to Shenzhen; you'll be denied boarding at your origin if you don't have a visa.

I found comments of people who were rating Shenzhen airport at its website aftwr their trip in February 2017 and they didnt need any entry permit. The procedure was only noticing airline about the transit in Shenzhen before leaving first country. They had to fill transit visa during boarding and was asked to wait in one place to get their next plane in Shenzhen. Can I ask for your source of information? Cuz actually what I found in 2 days of research is very mistaking.

The source is Timatic which is the tool used by the airlines to determine whether you need a visa. Shenzhen is clearly listed as an airport that requires visas for all passengers in transit. About one month ago, a Russian guy was deported to Australia after he landed despite holding a confirmed ticket to Moscow because he did not hold a transit visa and the airline did not read the information carefully, so in the end both he and the airline got fined by immigration. If you insist on doing so, then you may be denied boarding with your ticket canceled.

I checked by skyteam.travel.doc putting all my travel information and got an answer ;

You're ready to go

Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) - Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) - (Connecting Flight) 05 Jan 2018

Visa is not required for transit through China.

Anyway, I will contact airlines which I travel with. Thanks for your efforts in answering.

I check also for Russian passport holder. The information is completly different for different passport holder:
Sydney (NS) Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) - Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX)

Visa or additional documentation is required for China.

So probably country makes the difference.
