Jinshanling to Simatai West and Simatai East

We plan to hike from Jinshanling to Simatai west. I know that the classic trail is to start from Zhuanduokou pass and head to Kyryl tower and east five-window tower, leaving at the east gate of Jinshanling. How long would that hike be?
I wonder also, if we could walk from Zhuanduokou pass until the actual section of Simatai (east) and leave from there. If that is possible, how long is that walk?
We will be there on february/2018.
Thank you!

Now it is not allowed to hike from Jinshanling to Simatai. The route between these two sections has been closed. You may consider visiting either one of the sections instead of hike through the Great Walls due to the safty reason.
