About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Taipei- Shanghai- Taipei, is Taiwan considered as third country.

Is it possible to used 72 hours transfer for Taipei- Shanghai (two days)- Taipei travel?

That's obviously not transit so of course you'll need a visa.
