Tourist Visa - Staying with friends

Hi!

I have 2 questions. I have a US passport and would like to know if I have to have an invitation letter from a Chinese Citizen. Additionally, do they have to provide proof of residence? If so, what documents are required for proof of residence?

Hi, Anon, if you can provide transportation and accommodation arrangement for the application, you don't need to have an invitation letter from a Chinese citizen for that. Besides, if you ask them to provide you an invitation letter, they don't have to provide proof of residence for that. Don't worry.
