Don’t worry! 1 day is totally enough for both places. BTW, you can walk south for 15 minutes to Tiananmen East and catch metro line 2. Then, switch to line 4 at Xidan and get off at Beigongmen. Leave from Exit A and walk west for 3 minutes to Summer Palace. It takes about 1h and CNY5.2
