About:China Visa Application in UK

British Passport holder to Beijing

Travelling to Beijing staying 3 days then travelling to Shanghai staying overnight and embarking on a cruise ship in the morning can claim the 144 day exemption

No, you cannot claim the 144 hour exemption program if you travel like that. You need to apply for a visa for that beforehand.
