About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 day trip to Beijing

Hi- I am a US passport holder and needed miles to keep my Delta status. I purchased a round trip from Seattle to Beijing and back with the layover being 46 hours. I did not get a visa and I leave in a week. Can I use the TWOV 72 free transit? I know, this was not super bright of me to do. Any help would be great.

You cannot use the 72 hours TWOV if it's not a transit. Your three choices are (a) get a visa, (b) change your flights to make it a transit or (c) add a side-trip from Beijing to (for example) Hong Kong or Korea, etc.
