About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can you get a transit visa if you have previously had a Chinese business visa?

Im a New Zealander who has been living in China but my entry permit expires in December and I will go on vacation to the Philipines for 3 weeks. I then need to return to Guangzhou to collect the rest of my luggage and say last good bye for a 1 1/2 days.
Am I able to get the 72 hour free transit at Gz airport? I have my onward flight to New Zealand booked.
