About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Inbound flight has layover

Hi,
I have an inbound flight Amsterdam-Shanghai but it has a layover in Hongkong of an hour.
Afterwards I will actually travel to Hong Kong to stay there for two days.
Will it still count as different origin & destination, since I originate from Amsterdam?

Thanks!

Your route is Hong Kong-Shanghai-Hong Kong, so it's not a transit. You need a visa for that.
