About:China Transit Visa

An Indonesian Citizen Transit in Beijing

Hey Admin! So, I'm going to Paris and I have to transit in Beijing (Beijing Capital International Airport - PEK) for 5-10 hours. I wanted to ask, since Indonesia is not listed in the 51 countries under the 72-hour Transit Exemption, do I need to apply for a transit G even though I will only stay there for less than 24 hours?

Alicia, you don’t need a transit G type for that because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing. Nice trip!

What if I want to go outside for sightseeing? do I have to apply for the transit G Type? or the 24 hr direct transit is still applicable?

If so, you will be required to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport. Afterwards, you can go outside for sightseeing.
