About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Hello, I hold a Thai passport, my flight on China southern route from San Francisco-Wuhan-Bangkok.

I just stop in the Wuhan airport to pick up my luggage (someone said it can't check through Bangkok) and recheck in again. The layover is 4 hours. Can I do this without visa.
Thank you.

Hi, you cannot use free transit in mainland China, so you need to apply for a visa before the trip.

Thank you Gillian. I know that there is a 24 hours direct transit. I don't want to visit China, it's just arranged a stop by the flight of China southern. Why I need to apply for entry permit?
