NYC > Shanghai (4-5hrs) > Singapore (Round Trip)

Hi, I am flying to Singapore from USA with a 4 hr layover in Pudong Airport.
Do I need a Visa for transit?

Can I leave the airport for 2 hrs?
Do I need to apply for anything before I leave? or something when I arrive to the airport?

No visa is needed. But you need to apply for free temporary stay permit when arrival, then you can leave the airport.
