About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I need a visa to visit Guangzhou for 2 days (2)

Thank you Tom for your answer. Let me be more specific. Our trip is from LA-Singapore-HK-Taipei-LA. while we are in HK, we would like to visit Guangzhou for a couple of days before flying out to Taipei. Does that not qualify for transit permit? Thanks. J.Lee

You clearly need a visa for HK-Guangzhou-HK-Taipei because you're not a transit in Guangzhou, as you were correctlyl informed earlier. HK-Guangzhou-Taipei would qualify for 72 hours free transit in Guangzhou, but only if you fly on non-stop flights. You can't do that by bus without an entry permit. So get an entry permit or change your plans.
