About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit
Australian passport, try to visit Guangzhou for 2 days from Hongkong by train, do I need Visa?

Chi, I'm afraid you will need one. If you don't want to apply for it, you can fly froim HK to Guangzhou by air and then exit to a different country.
