About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling through Beijing to Hong Kong

Hello,

Is Hong Kong also included in the 24 and 72-hour direct transit options? If I book my layover to Hong Kong from Canada though Beijing is that acceptable?

Hong Kong is a separate customs and immigration entity so has its own visa requirements. Canadian citizens are visa exempted for 90 days.

And yes, Hong Kong also counts as a third country in the case of visa-free transit in Beijing.
