philippine passport with us green card have 10 hrs layover in shanghai

Question

Can I have a day tour in Shanghai while waiting for my connecting flight? Can I just apply for a 1 day transit visa at the immigration desk in the airport? Are there free tours from the airport?

Hi, Mel, if you travel like Country A-Shanghai (10 hours)-Country B, you will be eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. No transit G type will be required then. You just need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at Shanghai airport. Afterwards, you can leave the airport to explore the city.
