Temporary passport can be used for booking?

Hi! I'm in the process of extending my visa entry and the entry-exit office has taken my passport until next Friday. I was planning to travel to Beijing next Thursday, however. Will I still be able to book a train ticket with the slip of paper (stamped and with my picture) from the entry-exit office as opposed to my actual passport?

Yes, it works. But it is better to buy it at the station directly if you hold that slip of paper as travel document.
