Do you recommend the cruise around the Leshan Budha or to walk around?

I would say it is worth taking a boat cruise to see the Buddha from distance, which is probably the best view as you can get far enough back to appreciate his full size. You can also climb the narrow and seep stairs on either side to get a close up view, but it is usually crowded and very slow going, especially during holidays.0
