Quick stop over in Shanghai

Hello, I have a quick layover (8 hours) there en route to India. I'd like to make a quick outing to bide my time. Any suggestions on how to make the most of my short but long layover?

Thinking Maglev to the metro to Nanjing road. Or what is the best route? Is this even feasible?

Yes, it's feasible, and you can take the SMT to have a quick trip. After arriving at Longyang Rd, you can transfer to metro line 2 and get off at Nanjing Rd (E). Near the station are many attractions, like Nanjing Rd Pedestrian Street, the Bund, and Yuyuan Garden.
By the way, the SMT & metro takes about 25 minutes for a single trip.
