Airport to Forbidden City

Hi,

I will have a layover of 8 hours in Beijing. Does that time is enough for a quick visit to the Forbidden City? Which is the fastest way of getting there? Can you please guide if I need to take a taxi or can I go from train to the center of Pekin?

Yes, you can have a quick visit. The single trip may takes 1h 20 minutes by subway.
You are suggested to take Airport Express and transfer to Subway Line 2 at Dongzhimen, and then transfer to line 1 at Jianguomen. After that, get off at Tian’anmen East and leave from Exit A. Walk north through Tian’anmen Squar, you will get to the Forbidden City.
