About:China Visa Application in UK

3 day entry

I am going to be in Shanghai for 3 days do I need a visa? I will arriving on a cruise ship.

Hi, if the travel route is US-Shanghai for 3 days- another country or region instead of US, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. No visa is needed then. Nice trip!

Do you know if this is the same for UK passport holders? We are also arriving by cruise ship to Shanghai but staying for 3 nights (4 days) and the visa does seem very expensive!

UK passport holders can enjoy the visa free transit if their travel route is US-Shanghai for 3 days- another country or region instead of US as well.
