18hours lay over in PEK Airport (Philippine Passport)

Hi! I’m a Filipino with a Philippine Passport but currently living in Japan. My flight will be KIX-PEK-JFK and in vice versa. My total lay over is less than 24hours both departing & return flight. Do i need to get a visa? Please confirm. Thank you.
