can i renew my chinese passport in the united states

My chinese passport has expired, i live in the us and hold a green card. can i renew via mail or must i do this in person. I live in the state of washington/seattle. what documentation is required to renew my passport?

You need to do that in person. You should prepare your passport and its copy, a completed application form, and 4 passport-style photos, Chinese ID card, green card in the US, an introduction letter as well as other documents the consular officers consider necessary.
