About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travelling from US to India with US passport

Can I divert my travel through Beijing and get a 72 hour free transit?
Following is the travel plan.

US -> Singapore
Singapore -> Beijing
Beijing -> India
Please let me know. thanks

If you are flying Singapore-Beijing-Singapore then you are not in transit at Beijing, so obviously your itinerary is not compliant for visa-free transit. You need a visa for this routing.

Singapore-Beijing(72 hrs)-India is fine, if your flights are non-stop.
