About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Guangzhou in 7hrs

I’m traveling from Amsterdam to New Zealand and have a stopover of 7hrs in Guangzhou airport. Will I be able to leave the airport with the 24h TWOV? I know it depends on how busy the immigration counter is but is the 24h direct transit usually quick to obtain?

Hi, you are able to use the 24h TWOV in Guangzhou if you travel like that. But you cannot leave the airport because it's prohibited for passengers transiting in Guangzhou to leave the sterile transit zone if their transit time is under 24 hours. So you need to apply for a visa in advance if you want to explore the city.
