144-hour visa free transit in Shanghai on way back?

Hello, if I have a return flight from the Netherlands (Amsterdam) to Hong Kong with a stopover in Shanghai, is it possible to have the 144-hour free transit on the way back? So Amsterdam-Shanghai (not staying)-Hong Kong and back from Hong Kong-Shanghai (staying for a couple of days)-Amsterdam?
