About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

South Korean traveling to Beijing 11/17/2017 and depart from Beijing to Japan 11/20/2017

Hi, I fly out from Washington, DC to arrive in Beijing on Friday, 11/17/2017 at 7:25PM and leave from Beijing on Monday, 11/20/2017 at 10:10AM to Osaka, Japan. I am a South Korean citizen living in the United States, and I have H1-B work visa. I will be staying with a friend in Beijing, potentially at her place or stay at a hotel or air bnb.
Do I need an entry permit or will I be able to use the 72-hr free transit service? Also, is there a fee for the 72-hr free service? If I'm staying with a friend at her place, do I need to report to the local police after 24 hrs?
