About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling from Toronto and arrive in Shanghai

I'm traveling from Toronto Monday November 13th at 6:40am and arrive in Shanghai on Tuesday November 14th at 2:05pm. I am then leaving Monday November 20th at 9:40am to Taipei Taiwan. I am eligible for the 144 hour free transit, correct? and this is done once I check in Toronto correct? And finish when I arrive there and check in the free transit counter ...? Also, Taiwan does not require a visa so I am still ok with that, since it says I need a visa for my next destination... Aside from flight/ticket information I don't need hotel information or what not?

Yes, you are eligible for the 144 hour free transit, and it is done when you check in Toronto and finish when you check in the free transit counter. Aside from flight/ticket information, you should bring your passport and enough travel fees. Hotel information is not required.
