Visa to China for Taiwan Passport

Hi -

Can I get a VOA in China with a Taiwanese passport? If not, what kind of visa should I apply for at the New York Consulate? Additionally, I have a tai bao zheng that expires on 1/9/2018. I will be visiting China from 12-22 - 1/2. Will my Tai Bao Zheng still be valid?
