US passport holders with a nine hour layover in Shanghai. Do we have to claim  our luggage etc or can the luggage be done all the way thru to our final destination?Is it the same for a South Korean passport holder?

You can contact with the airlines to confirm if your luggage is delivered to the final destination directly. If yes, there is no need for you to collect the luggage.
