About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

TWOV and luggage

US passport holders with a nine hour layover in Shanghai. Do we have to claim our luggage etc or can the luggage be done all the way thru to our final destination?
Is it the same for a South Korean passport holder?

Hi, both the USA and South Korea passport holders can make use of the TWOV if you will go to a third country or region different from the last one you come from after transiting in Shanghai. You can contact with the airlines to confirm if your luggage is delivered to the final destination directly. If yes, there is no need for you to collect the luggage.
