About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Brisbane - Shanghai - Seoul - Brisbane

Hi, I hold a Korean passport but live in Australia. Below is my plan for May 2018.

To Seoul: Brisbane - Shanghai - Seoul
Back to Brisbane: Seoul - Brisbane

On the way to Shanghai, the Korean Air that I am flying with will stop in Inceon for 1.5 hours for a transfer.

1. Will the 144 hour free transit still be applied to my case?
2. Also, would I be able to visit Suzhou from Shanghai for a day trip during the visa free period?

Thank you.

Sue, if you will travel like Brisbane - Incheon - Shanghai - Seoul on the way to Shanghai, you won't qualify for the free transit because it's not a transit. You'll need a visa if you travel like that.
