About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

American traveling HK-Shanghai-US

Hi -
I'm an American citizen, flying from Hong Kong to Shanghai, where I will be for 2.5 days, then back to the US. Am I eligible for the 144 hour visa-free transit option?
