About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Connecting flight in Beijing

I have a flight ticket Moscow-Beijing-Chengdu, and another confirmed flight ticket Chengdu-Hong Kong. Beijing airport is only to take the connecting flight, as my destination is Chengdu. Arrival from Moscow is at Beijing international airport terminal 2, and departure to Chengdu after three hours is from Beijing international airport terminal 1. I hold Italian passport. Am I eligible for the 72 hours visa free transit in Chengdu?

No, you are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit if you travel like that.
However, if your total layover in China is less than 24 hours, you can use the 24 hour direct transit. No transit G type will be needed either.
