What to see on a day trip

I'd like to experience the fast train from Shanghai on a day trip. My 144 hour visa free allows me to visit Jiangsu or Zhejlang but what could I see in either of those places?

You could take a day trip to Suzhou or Hangzhou, both of them are good choices.
