Question

Hello, do I need to apply for 24hr transit visa? I would like to explore the city because I have an extremely long lay over... Traveling from NYC to shanghai (pudong) to manila on Dec. 29 ill be in shanghai at 5:50am and flight is at 1:50am on Dec. 30 to philippines.

Hi, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai and you can explore the city during the layover time as long as you apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at Pudong airport. Nice trip!
